Random Thoughts
Vanilla musk, floating on an October breeze,
a short afro, a sweatshirt and jeans.
Smile as brilliant as the warm, summer sun,
veal cutlets, carrots, and chicken bouillon.
Laughing and dancing to “I Feel the Earth Move”,
toes, pretty and painted, in new platform shoes.
Taking long soaks in a footed bathtub,
playing “airplane”, and getting my feet rubbed.
The fear of pain from getting my ears pierced,
knowing she had my back when things got fierce.
Monopoly games always won by me,
Chicken noodle soup and burnt grilled cheese.
Joan Baez, Helen Reddy, Curtis Mayfield and Joe Tex…
tastes so diverse, we never knew what would be next.
Never in my wildest dreams did I suspect,
that these random thoughts would be all I had left.
